Due to the budget crisis in the city of San Francisco, Zeum recently lost 40% of its funding for the Fiscal Year 2011* ZeumMasters Teen Internship Program.

ZeumMasters: A Teen Internship Program

We are proud to announce that we have recently hired 14 new ZeumMasters for our 2010-2012 term. Our students come from all over the San Francisco Bay area ranging from Leadership High School, Crystal Springs Uplands School, International Studies Academy, June Jordan School for Equity, Lincoln High School, Lowell High School, School of the Arts, Balboa High School, Berkeley High School, and El Camino High School.

Please check our website for updates regarding the 2011 application process for the ZeumMasters Internship Program. Applications will be available February 1, 2011. The deadline for submission is on March 30, 2011.

ZeumMaster Internship Job Description

The ZeumMaster program is a youth development internship that combines an integral job experience with a rich mentoring environment. This program  supports personal and professional growth, as well as opportunities to develop skills in art, media and technology.  ZeumMasters serve as visitor guides who facilitate the Zeum experience by assisting in activities such as creating clay animation movies, music videos, and digital art. Throughout the internship, ZeumMasters build their visitor service and facilitation skills while gaining insider exposure to the arts and media industries. In addition, participants develop their communication and leadership skills by working with visitors of all ages and backgrounds.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Ages 14-17 may apply (students entering their Sophomore or Junior year in Fall 2010 are preferred)
  • Maintain a 2.4 GPA in high school or other accredited program
  • Must be able to obtain a valid work permit upon hire
  • Must be available to work Tues.-Thurs. or Fri.-Sun. from 10:00am - 5:30pm during the summer and Sat. or Sun. from 10:00am - 5:30pm during the school year
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards visitors and colleagues
  • Express interest in working with children, the public, and the arts and/or technology
  • Must live within the San Francisco Bay Area
